Informa - Social Media Playbook

Informa - Social Media Playbook

What our client wanted

Our client has a series of publications, websites and events aimed at the scientific community globally, the social media team wanted to implement a series of standards and a set tone of voice which pulled all the brands together.

The social media for the individual brands was patchy, not consistent and when published it had no identity, the individuals across the 40 titles were not social media specialists and were doing the best they could. The client wanted a way to ensure that they could support these editors and contributors helping them get the best possible results across social media.

Our strategy

We worked closely with the client to understand what the challenges were, given that those posting content to social media were not marketers we came up with a social media playbook which gave them all the information and access to assets etc that they need.

This included the tone of voice, and how to actually post in an optimal way on each platform. We looked at the best way to shape content for an audience even down to how to use Emojis and choose the correct image.

The outcome

Alongside internal training this has helped to unify 40 very different titles under one umbrella brand, it has given confidence to those who were responsible for social media accounts to produce better quality content that now makes a difference
